"Iron Mike" is a statue of a pet dog belonging to a former Hanoverian who originally had the statue placed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. At some point it was moved to the square in Hanover next to General Pickett's monument, but it has no connection to the General or the Civil War. Photo taken August 29, 2010.
Almost seven years after the tragic fatal accident on Hanover Street between Hanover, PA and New Oxford, PA somebody still maintains this memorial for Kimberly Cool. This and next two photos taken 10/18/2009.
An original concrete marker of The Lincoln Highway, the first paved highway across the USA. The highway was begun in 1913, In 1928 the Boy Scouts placed nearly 3000 of these concrete markers along the highway. This one is in the square in New Oxford, PA where I live.
