I grew up in Middlebury having lived on Steinmann Avenue from 1962 - 1983 (age 1 1/2 to 22). I returned in May 2008 to revisit the old neighborhood and town. I went to the most memorable sites from childhood and photographed them for posterity. Feel free to add your comment below a pic if it strikes some memory with you.
Another view of Fran and Jack's/A & J with Rocky Ferucci's old gas station on the right. Rocky was our neighbor until he divorced. We typically bought our gas here as long as the station was in business. It was a Citgo (before Chavez) and then a Phillips 66 and then I think a Mobil. It was the days when full service meant checking under the hood, topping off oil, washing the windshield and other courtesies.
