Middlebury, CT: My Hometown
I grew up in Middlebury, Connecticut having lived on Steinmann Avenue from 1962 - 1983 (age 1 1/2 to 22). I returned in May 2008 to revisit the old neighborhood and town. I went to the most memorable sites from childhood and photographed them for posterity. The family names refer to people who were there in my childhood. Feel free to add your comment below a pic if it strikes some memory with you.

Known simply as The Brook this is a view of this little stream from Route 64 (Middlebury Road) looking toward Steinmann Avenue. This is an old trolley bridge which is now part of a walking trail running mainly along the old trolley right-of-way along Middlebury Road. The actual name of The Brook is Long Swamp Brook. It originates from a pond near the Watertown line on Straits Turnpike and joins Hop Brook south of Whittemore Road. The trolley began running from Waterbury to Lake Quassapaug in 1908 and ceased in 1930.
